The risk of product contamination and product recall from conveyor and processing belts can now be significantly reduced through the selection of the correct belt type together with the most appropriate joining system.
At Viking Conveyor we have revolutionised conveyor belt joining in critical applications through the use of a polyester monofilament belt carcass that can be quickly and easily joined together without the need for special tools or presses. Most importantly there are no metal parts that can lead to product contamination.
This range of belt products is marketed by Viking Conveyor as ‘Ziplink’ due to the belt fabric loops being zipped together in the joining process. The range includes food grade PVC, PU, Silicon and Polyolefin in both blue and white. There is also a wide selection of profiled belt for packaging and processing applications.
Ziplink belts can be easily fitted by customers as a means of significantly reducing downtime when a belt is damaged and immediate replacement is required. Customers can also remedy their own splice repairs and save the cost of service callouts and belt splicing charges.
The risks associated with metal fasteners can also be eliminated through the use of Volta homogenous belting. The Volta range is now available through Viking Conveyor complete with non metallic hinge fasteners. These fasteners are welded to the complete belt range and ensure that Volta food grade belts can be easily removed for cleaning when necessary.
Volta’s range of SuperDrive positive drive belting is another big step towards total food safety. Belt slippage is overcome and the belts are positively tracked ensuring that belt edge wear is eliminated. SuperDrive belts can be fitted with the plastic hinge fastener or quickly welded on site by Viking Conveyor’s nationwide service network.
Our wide range of belt types, together with safe and reliable joining methods, allow us to tackle the most demanding challenges associated with conveyor and processing belts.
