At Viking Conveyor we have New Zealand’s largest Autoclave. An autoclave is a pressure chamber used to carry out industrial processes that require elevated temperature and pressure, such as lining vessels and lining pipes.
Our fabrication team undertakes vessel lining, pipe lining and lining of other plant equipment with raw rubber. The rubber is either cold or hot bonded to the equipment.
Cold bonding uses an adhesive which is used to bond wear resistant rubber sheet to steel work. It is a cost effective and fast process.
Hot bonding is where vessels and pipes are lined in raw rubber and subsequently cured in an Autoclave. Vulcanising the raw rubber produces a seamless lining eliminating adhesive joins associated with cold bonding.
Hot Bonding is recommended for chemical reaction vessels and abrasive slurry handling applications. It has superior durability when compared to cold bonding.
We have one of the largest autoclaves in this part of the world, ready to protect your plant and infrastructure! Our inhouse Fabrication Technical Manager, Terry Hutchison, is a Rubber chemist with over 30 years experience in the industry. Contact Terry today – he will be able to help you out.
